Jacquro is a partnership of two glass artists. Rob Young has been working in glass for over 10 years. Jackie is a more recent recruit to glass work who has brought alternative artistic flare and practical attention to detail.

Much of our work reflects our own personal spirituality. We acknowledge this can be challenging to some but it is also challenging to us as we seek to reflect our understanding and raise questions both for ourselves and others. This leads us to deal in symbols such as the three dimensional glass crown of thorns but also in simple forms such as the cast glass clasped hands of friendship broken in two.

Our other main source of inspiration is drawn from the Dark Peak landscape we have grown to love since moving to Sheffield only a few years ago. We struggle to reflect in glass the swirling coppery flumes of the Rivelin stream, or the sparkling bubbles of a summer beck, and to paint in glass the outstretched hills and crumpled Edges of Derbyshire.

We specialise in customised glass sculpture and artefacts for display in homes, garden and churches, but we also produce light hearted sculpture and hangings in response to celebrations and our affection for flowers and gardens.

Glass; coloured, fused, stained or translucent is our main material, but we use aluminium, Derbyshire stone, wood, and cane from the West Country to enhance, support and participate in the design.

We want people to respond to our work whether in inspiration or even re-action; and we hope at least some pieces will make our viewers smile.

Jacquro’s aim is to create and supply individual clients, with customised and commissioned glass, which could range from a garden glass sculpture or new stained glass window to a small memento for a family celebration or a favourite holiday view in a glass panel.
